design/GUI   2009/03/10 16:30

Nexus
This product demo illustrates how the use of advanced features like LinkFlow and Drag’n’Drop can add to an intuitive and improved user experience

- TAT Cascades powered with a range of new exciting features; portrait and landscape effects, widgets, touch unlock, drag’n’drop and LinkFlow
- It is easy to differentiate still based on the same underlying application code - allowing for a lot more extensive customization within the same development time.
- Built on TAT Cascades extensive library of reference applications that allows you to make cut’n’paste Uis instead of coding from scratch

V-rocs
Mobile Labs has integrated its v-rocs product suite with TAT’s Text Layout API in Cascades in a platform independent way, enabling the combination to be used on any phone that can run Cascades.Mobile Labs has integrated its v-rocs product suite with TAT Cascades, offering advanced text rendering on any phone that runs Cascades and Kastor.

Glassy
Demos showing some examples how you can have attractive UIs work, with excellent performance, on mid-range platforms

- Giving you the ability to spice up your UIs on legacy platforms
- Giving you a platform that from scratch has been designed and optimized to be CPU and RAM efficient
- Pushing FPS performance without the need for hardware acceleration

Print UI
Print UI is a concept that explores a fresh take on the look of mobile UI. Stepping away from the given path and trying to break a lot of the visual heritage of the mobile industry. In many ways the general mobile UI is looking a lot like the web did ten years ago.

Foldout Physics UI

The focus of the demo is on exploiting a 3D interface’s inherent qualities to increase browsability of information and the overall feeling an enjoyable and fun user journey. The design’s savvy use of 3D combined with natural physics behavior using our new physics engine makes for a truly intuitive user experience.

New options for mobile visual design are on our doorstep. We have crafted the style with dynamic textures and lighting to evoke playful and emotional qualities – this should appeal to anyone who has ever considered a fully branded handset experience. In our partnership with Texas Instruments we have develop this hands-on demo on the TI OMAP 3430.

Asia Cute

Asia cute is a UI that is inspired by the Asian game and toy industry where environment and figures often have a happy and cute touch. It is intended for people who would like a very playful UI.

Dashboard

An automotive concept using digital displays and adaptive gauges and shows the flexibility across platforms and devices.

PROTOTYPES

3D Eyetracking UI

What if the graphics on your mobile seemed to have real depth? Imagine tilting your mobile so you can look around corners and behind objects in the GUI to access additional information. Imagine layered GUIs where pop-up windows really pop up. With eye-tracking and the real 3D capabilities of TAT Cascades, this is now possible. Take a look at the latest inspirational concept from TAT and experience the 3D Eyetracker UI!

ProjectoUI

A projected user interface combined with a gesture recognition system is a radical shift for the mobile experience. It is not merely a matter of scaling up existing UIs and mobile content. The technology offers a paradigm shift in the way we interact with this pervasive tool, in that the technology can get a step closer to dissolving into our natural behavior.

PREVIOUS WORK

Photo River

2 .5D slick photo album to experience photos in a stream, making more use of your idle screen. The concept including tagging photos which would bring up specific photos if associated keywords were triggered. We exhibited this demo at Mobile World Congress (3GSM) at 2006.

Social Pond

Social pond is social networking on your device in 3D. Communicate with friends and explore their music and other fun stuff. This demo was developed for Mobile World Congress 2007 in cooperation with Texas Instruments 3430 board. This UI has an strong focus on Open GLES 2.0 using effects such as water and frosted glass as well as shaders, using multiple layers to showcase a very intuitive and rich user experience.
